2-24-15 home prices rise-sales dip

MILWAUKEE (AP) —The median price of Wisconsin homes continue to rise, even as sales slipped in January. That's according to a housing market analysis by the Wisconsin Realtors Association. The report says home sales in Wisconsin dropped 3.7 percent last month compared with the same time last year.

2-24-15 handgun sale waiting period

RACINE, Wis. (AP) — A Racine lawmaker wants to repeal Wisconsin's 48-hour waiting period to buy handguns. State Senator Van Wanggaard says the original intent of the waiting period was to give gun dealers enough time to complete a background check, but they can now be done nearly instantly. Wanggaard says the 48-hour waiting period now amounts to a "time tax."

2-23-15 boil water advisory lifted in brandon

A boil water advisory has been lifted in the village of Brandon   Public Health officer, Kim Mueller, says the advisory was lifted Sunday and flyers were distributed door to door notifying residents.  The  advisory was issued last week  following a water main break in the village.

2-23-15 former waupun resident dies in drive by shooting in milwaukee

A former Waupun resident was killed in a drive by shooting in Milwaukee.  Police say 24 year old Ryan T. Rompre, and a 25-year-old woman were traveling in a car on Milwaukee’s northside when another vehicle pulled next to them  and opened fire.  The incident happened February 11th in the 4400 block of Roosevelt Drive.   The woman suffered non life-threatening injuries, but Rompre died on Feb. 17 at  Froedtert […]

2-23-15 atv accident on lake winnebago

Two women were injured in an ATV rollover accident on Lake Winnebago.  Rescue personnel were called Saturday afternoon to a report of an ATV accident on the lake about a mile from Clarence’s Harbor on Winnebago Drive.  According to a sheriff’s report an ATV rolled over onto the female operator.  She was transported to St. Agnes Hospital with leg and rib injuries.   Another female occupant received minor rib injuries.
