A plea and sentencing hearing in Fond du lac County Circuit Court for a Markesan man accused of phoning in bomb threats to several businesses has been delayed.  The hearing for Aaron Schreiber will be rescheduled when charges against Schreiber in Dodge County are  resolved.  Schreiber is accused of phoning in bomb threats to businesses,  a library and hospital in Waupun and businesses in Beaver Dam, Fox Lake and Ripon.  […]

The Fond du Lac city council has voted in favor of a final resolution declaring  the downtown A.C Nielson building a blighted property.  The blight declaration allows for $4.2 million in redevelopment revenue bonds for the purchase and rehabilitation of the property.  Marian University has purchased the property and is relocating its School of Nursing to the building.  Community Development director Diane Benson says the property qualifies as blighted because […]

The Department of Natural Resources is investigating a liquid manure spill at the Meyer Farms dairy, located at the corner of St. Charles Road and County Highway G near the town of Brothertown. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Department of Natural Resources' board has approved public hearings on permanent rules implementing recommendations from Gov. Scott Walker's deer trustee.  Walker hired Texas deer researcher James Kroll in 2011 to review the DNR's deer management tactics. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources officials are telling the agency's board that the 2014 nine-day gun deer hunt was a rebuilding year.  Preliminary numbers from last month's hunt show hunters killed 191,550 deer, down 15 percent from last year.
