There will be a benefit this month for a Fond du lac teen who was injured in a car vs. bicycle accident.  The benefit for Grant Corbin  will be held from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday November 22nd at The Retlaw Hotel in the Crystal Ballroom. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democrat Dick Cates won't ask for a recount in his race for the open 51st District seat in southwestern Wisconsin against Republican Todd Novak. Cates conceded Thursday in a race that Novak won by only about 60 votes. Republicans will have a 63-36 advantage in the next Assembly.

11-15-14 boy convicted of killing great-grandmother will not be re-sentenced

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (AP) — A Sheboygan judge says he will not re-sentence a teenage boy serving a life sentence for killing his great-grandmother. An attorney for 15-year-old Antonio Barbeau argued the sentence is unconstitutional when applied to a minor. But the judge denied the appeal. Barbeau pleaded no contest in the 2012 death of Barbara Olson of Sheboygan Falls.

The two oldest living former Fond du lac firefighters are being recognized for their service.  The Fond du lac city council this week presented a proclamation to George Casper and Dalton Kubelt. whose careers spanned the parts of five decades.  Assistant fire chief Randy Cunzenheim says Casper and Kubelt started in the department at about the same time in 1946. (AP) — Two renegade swans who escaped from the Blackwolf Run golf course have been returned to their habitat after spending a few days on the Sheboygan River.  The majestic swans, with their clipped wings, spend the summer on a pond at the Kohler golf course and winter in a heated enclosure.
