(AP) — Agricultural exports are moving out of Wisconsin at a strong rate.  The Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection says Wisconsin farms and agribusinesses have exported nearly $2.8 billion worth or products to 138 countries so far this year. The "Fill the Sleigh" campaign conducted at Fond du Lac High School and before the White Christmas performances on November 6 – 9 brought in over 5,000 food items and $300+ to be donated to the Salvation Army. 11-13-14 milwaukee man sentenced for battery to fdl county jail corrections officer

A Milwaukee man who faces charges in the heroin overdose death of a Fond du Lac woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for injuring a Fond du Lac County Jail corrections officer.  35-year-old Roy Whitelow was found guilty of one count of battery to a law enforcement officer as a repeat offender this week. (AP) — Oshkosh Corp. is building a $100 million manufacturing plant in Mexico that will employ about 1,000 people.  The company's announcement comes as it cuts several hundred jobs in its defense industry division in Oshkosh by year's end.  Oshkosh Corp. spokesman John Daggett says the plant in Leon, Mexico will make vehicle components, but not defense industry parts. The Fond du lac city council has approved a budget that includes a 5.4 percent increase in the tax rate and does not dip into the city’s fund balance.  The council voted six to one last night in favor of the 2015 budget with council president Sam Meyer voting against.   Meyer wanted to use some of the fund balance to reduce the city’s debt.  Councilmember Gary Miller proposed using $800,000 […]
