The Fond du Lac Fire Department has received a  donation from Koch Pipeline Company, L.P.  Koch Pipeline donated approximately $50,000 in hazardous material equipment.  Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says the equipment will provide a valuable resource to  emergency responses.   The Department says it will use the equipment not only in the City of Fond du Lac, but in the surrounding counties and even possibly state-wide.   The department was […]

The action Wednesday does not mean that the court will decide that day to hear state appeals of lower court rulings that struck down bans on same-sex marriage in Wisconsin and Indiana.

9-11-14 scientists question wi dnr wolf population estimates

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A group of scientists are warning federal wildlife officials that the state Department of Natural Resources' wolf population estimates are faulty. The researchers from UW-Madison sent a letter to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service last month saying the DNR under-reported the 2012 to 2013 wolf mortality rate and hasn't factored in how hunting wolves with hounds will affect the overall population.

9-11-14 wi farmer accused of killing puppies

WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) — A 68-year-old Dorchester farmer faces felony animal mistreatment charges for allegedly killing eight puppies with a sledgehammer.  Terrence Seubert was charged in Marathon County with eight felony counts of mistreatment of animals causing death.  According to the complaint, Seubert told investigators the price to sterilize the dogs' mother was "too high" and he did not want any more puppies running around on the farm.  The complaint […]

(AP) — Wisconsin officials have set up a new process to help people get state identification cards without paying for a birth certificate.  The announcement Wednesday comes after the state Supreme Court last month upheld a law requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls. 9-10-14 fdl police investigating gunshots fired

9-10-14 highway 41 fatal

One person was killed in a three vehicle accident on Highway 41 in Washington County near Kewaskum.  The accident happened at about 5:30pm Tuesday.  The state patrol says a passenger vehicle was travelling north on 41 when the driver lost control, crossed the median and went into the southbound lanes of 41 striking a flatbed tow truck.
