9-5-14 gay marriage ruling-celebration in milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Gay couples and their supporters gathered in Milwaukee to celebrate an appeals court decision declaring Wisconsin's ban on gay marriage unconstitutional. Couples who filed the lawsuit seeking to overturn the ban say they realize it could be a while before the matter is settled since Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has said he will appeal today's ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court.

9-5-14 prostitution charges filed against 13 people in dodge county

More than two dozen prostitution related charges have been filed in Dodge County Circuit Court against 13 individuals.  The District Attorneys Office says Debbie and Daniel Walters, South Spring Street Beaver Dam, were charged today in Dodge County Circuit Court with Keeping a Place of Prostitution and Allowing Use as Place of Prostitution.  In  addition, Debbie Walters and eleven men were also charged with a total of  29 counts relating […]

Wisconsin governor Scott Walker says Wisconsin residents are better off than they were four years ago. Walker made the comments during a campaign stop in Fond du lac Thursday…touring Manowske Welding Corporation and speaking to employees.  Walker asked employees if they  "wanted to keep the Wisconsin comeback going forward or go back to the days when we were behind the rest of the country?"

9-4-14 elderly man struck by car in fdl

An elderly Fond du Lac man received non life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a car.  The 71 year old man was walking across North Main Street when he was struck by the car Wednesday.  Richard Thompson was transported to St. Agnes Hospital where he was treated for head and shoulder injuries.  The car driver said he didn’t see Thompson because the sun was in his eyes.

9-4-14 retlaw theater demolition underway

Demolition of the Historic Retlaw Theater building is underway as crews prepare the site for a major renovation project.  Community Development director Wayne Rollin says work this week.  Rollin says demolition work should be completed by the end of the month followed by renovation work done over the fall and winter. Commonwealth Development is converting the first floor of the building into its office headquarters and retail with apartments above.
