MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Supreme Court has sided with police in two separate cases where cellphone data was used to track suspects.  The court's rulings Thursday came in a pair of homicide cases in Milwaukee and Kenosha counties. 7-25-14 violin theft

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A Milwaukee man who provided the stun gun used in the theft of a $5 million violin has received a 3½-year prison sentence. Universal K. Allah pleaded guilty in May to being party to felony robbery. The nearly 300-year-old violin was missing for nine days before police recovered it in good condition.

7-25-14 baldwin-veterans affairs doctors

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Legislation introduced by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin looks to increase the number of doctors at Veterans Affairs medical centers and reduce wait times. The Wisconsin Democrat says the bill would create 2,000 residency positions over five years at VA hospitals nationwide. The measure would also require the VA to allocate the residency positions based on doctor shortages at its facilities.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The federal office that helps refugees settle in the United States has placed 50 unaccompanied children in Wisconsin. The Office of Refugee Resettlement released a state-by-state breakdown showing where children had been placed. It did not provide specifics on their locations. The office says it tries to place children with a parent, relative or family friend when possible.

7-24-14 fdl fire department responds to amonia leak

On July 23, 2014, at 11:45 PM the Fond du Lac Fire Department was dispatched to the smell of ammonia at 356 Dixie Street.  Upon arrival fire crews monitored immediate area around the building and found low readings.  The hazmat team was activated, members entered the structure, and found low readings.  They experienced higher readings on the roof of structure, so the management personnel shutdown refrigeration system in order to […]
