APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Department of Revenue says roughly $3.4 million in lottery winnings were not claimed by lucky ticket holders last year.  Since 1997, nearly $55 million in winning tickets have gone unclaimed.  The figures represent only lotto games like Powerball and Mega Millions. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin officials are considering lifting the ban on camera usage by election observers.  State elections board will meet Monday to vote on proposed changes to election observer rules. 7-18-14 fire damages fdl comfort inn

Two people were  transported to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation following a fire Friday at the Comfort Inn in Fond du Lac.  Firefighters from multiple departments were called to the scene on Holiday Lane near the Holiday Inn.  The fire was extinguished, but not before it caused extensive damage to the exterior of the structure, roof and overhang components of the attached pool.  Smoke spread throughout the structure.
