7-18-14 rolling meadows burglary

Two Fond du Lac men are in custody after being caught in the act burglarizing the former Rolling Meadows Nursing Home building.  Assistant police chief Steve Klein says the incident happened Tuesday night.  The building is being converted into a Senior housing complex and Klein says it appears the burglars were looking for construction related tools and equipment.

Waupun police say they are following up on a couple of leads in  connection with a rash of vehicle entries.  Police chief Dale Heeringa says the break-ins occurred Sunday night into Monday morning.  Heeringa says it appears the break-ins were crimes of opportunity.  Anyone with information is asked to call Waupun police.

7-17-14 wi attorneys ask entire appeals court to hear arguments on gay marriage ban

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin attorneys have asked the entire 7th Circuit Court of Appeals to hear their arguments on upholding the state's gay marriage ban. Ten judges sit on the 7th Circuit, but three-judge panels typically decide cases. Attorneys for the state say all 10 judges should weigh in because gay marriage is an issue of national importance.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democrats in the Wisconsin state Senate are asking Gov. Scott Walker and fellow Republican Attorney General J.B.
