7-14-14 another liquid manure spill in fdl county

Another liquid manure spill has been reported in Fond du lac County.  County executive Al Buechel says the spill was reported by Vir-Clar Dairy shortly after 9pm Saturday.  An estimated 1,000 gallons of liquid manure spilled onto Fourth Street Road shortly after 8:30pm Saturday. 7-14-14 lakeside park dredging

Dredging work in Fond du Lac’s  Lakeside Park is almost done.   Public Works Director Jordan Skiff says crews should have the project completed in the next couple of weeks.  The sludge has been dumped at Lakeside Park west.

7-14-14 dodge county sheriff-armored vehicle

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office has added an emergency rescue vehicle to its fleet.  The Caiman armored vehicle was obtained with the help of a 1033 federal grant.  Sheriff Pat Ninmann says the value of the vehicle is estimated at $733,000.  Ninmann says the vehicle will be used in natural disaster situations and to protect officers and In some cases medical personnel who are making rescues in a dangerous location.

7-14-14 two suspects in assault of sheriff’s deputy to make court appearances this week

Two Fond du lac County men accused of trying to disarm a sheriff’s deputy are expected to make their initial court appearances this week.  Twenty two year old Colton Obrien of Eden and 19 year old Tanner Gremminger of rural Campbellsport face multiple charges.  Obrien is accused of punching the deputy and trying to grab his service revolver during a scuffle.  Gremminger is accused of pointing the deputy’s Taser at the deputy.  Fond du […]

Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Reggie Newson will visit Mercury Marine, to  recognize the Wisconsin-based global manufacturer during its 75th Anniversary year and highlight its partnership with DWD in apprenticeship training at 11 a.m. Monday.  Newson says in addition to his Wisconsin Fast Forward initiative, Governor Walker's workforce investments included additional funding for apprenticeship training. A grand opening ceremony will be held this week  for a newly expanded  Fond du lac company. 7-14-14 pedestrian killed

NEW LONDON, Wis. (AP) — A pedestrian in Waupaca County has died after being hit by a vehicle.  The collision happened early Saturday morning in the Town of Lebanon, north of New London.  Emergency crews found the male victim unconscious. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — Manitowoc police are warning that an unusually powerful batch of heroin may have made its way to the streets.  Two drug overdoses were reported in a 12-hour period.
