The American Red Cross in Wisconsin says an emergency blood shortage is threatening medical procedures.  Red Cross spokeswoman Laura McGuire says the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years.  McGuire says the Red Cross blood supply has fallen to critically low levels across the country and blood and platelet donors are urged to make a donation appointment.   McGuire says when fewer people donate blood, even small disruptions to […]

Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged an attached garage and home in Waupun.  Shortly before 8:30pm Saturday firefighters were called to the Doug and Deb Darnick home at 501 S. West Street to find a vehicle inside the garage on fire.   The occupants were able to safely escape before firefighters arrived.  The home is uninhabitable.  The fire is believed to have started in the vehicle's engine compartment.
