11-23-23 fatal head on collision near fdl-calumet county line

11-23-23 milwaukee man sentenced to prison in fdl county conspiracy ring

A Milwaukee man has been sentenced to prison as the ringleader of a nearly $10 million cocaine conspiracy ring in Fond du Lac County.   Fond du Lac judge Andrew Christenson has sentenced Lateef Strong to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years extended supervision after Strong was convicted of conspiracy to deliver over 40 grams of cocaine.    Investigators say Strong was the ringleader and last of over 15 defendants charged in this […]

11-23-23 fdl man convicted in fentanyl overdose death

A Fond du Lac man has been convicted  in a fentanyl overdose death.  A Fond du Lac jury convicted Eugene Jackson is charged with  First Degree Reckless Homicide and Manufacture-Delivery of Fentanyl.  Jackson was convicted in connection with a drug overdose death in the village of North Fond du Lac in  September 2022.   A pre-sentence investigation was ordered and a sentencing hearing will be scheduled.  The charges carry a maximum possible sentence of 45 years in […]

11-23-23 local unemployment rate falls in october

The local unemployment rate is down in the latest reporting period.  According to the state Department of Workforce Development the city of Fond du Lac jobless rate dropped two tenths of a percent to three percent in October.  The Fond du Lac County rate stands at 2.6 percent, down from 2.8 percent in September.  In Dodge county the unemployment rate last month was 2.5 percent, down from 2.8 percent the month before.
