8-21-23 drowning at taylor park swimming pool in fdl

An eight year old Fond du Lac boy was transported to the hospital following a drowning at the Taylor Park Swimming pool in Fond du Lac.  Fond du Lac Fire Chief Erick Gerritson says paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 2:30pm Sunday.  Gerritson says paramedics were able to get a pulse before the child was transported to the hospital.  His condition was not immediately known.  Nevin Webster was […]

8-21-23 wisconsin republicans propose eliminating work permits for 14 and 15 year olds

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Republicans are proposing a bill that would do away with work permit requirements for 14- and 15-year-olds in the state. Currently, kids ages 14 and 15 need to verify their ages with the Department of Workforce Development and get a parent's permission to get a job. 8-21-23 dodge county sheriff’s office investigating suicide death following domestic incident

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man involved in a domestic incident in Waupun shot and killed himself.  Shortly before 7:30pm Friday Waupun Police were called to a residence in the 100 block of West Brown Street for a report of a domestic disturbance.  A preliminary investigation shows subsequent to officers arriving on scene a man involved in the incident took his own life.  The Sheriff's Office says no officers were involved […]

8-21-23 first human case of west nile virus confirmed in wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services Public Health Madison & Dane County have confirmed the first human case of West Nile virus in a Wisconsin resident this year.  The individual is a resident of Dane County. Cases of West Nile virus have also been reported in three horses in Wisconsin, and several mosquito pools. The horse cases were located in Dunn and Clark counties, and the positive mosquitoes were from Milwaukee and Lafayette counties.

8-21-23 hiker who died in fatal fall at devil’s lake state park identified as indiana man

BARABOO, Wis. (AP) — A man who died Tuesday after he fell from a bluff while hiking in a Wisconsin state park has been identified as a 42-year-old from Indiana. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources said Thursday that the Sauk County coroner identified the man as 42-year-old Jason Gillum, of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
