Governor Tony Evers has signed a bipartisan bill that classfies county jailers as protective occupation participants like other public safety workers.   Republican state representative Mark Born of Beaver Dam is the bill's author.   Born says protective status benefits include a lower retirement age, an increased multiplier for retirement annuities and duty disability insurance.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has pardoned almost 160 more people, extending his record number of pardons.
