Shortly before 5am Saturday Fond du Lac firefighters were called to a home at 550 Van Dyne Road Lot 45 for a reported fire behind the clothes dryer that was in use by the homeowner. Wisconsin's unemployment rate remains below the national average. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development says the November unemployment rate was 3.3 percent, unchanged from the month before, and below the national rate of 3.7 percent. Preliminary employment estimates show Wisconsin added 6,500 nonfarm and 5,800 total private sector jobs in November.
Fond du Lac County has set a record for high speed chases this year. The latest chase happened Sunday night when an 18 year old Brandon man was arrested after trying to elude authorities.
