9-22-22 august unemployment rate

There is not much change in the local unemployment rate in August.  The Fond du Lac County jobless rate was unchanged at three percent.  The Dodge County unemployment rate dipped a tenth of a percent to 2.8 percent.  In the city of Fond du Lac, the August unemployment rate stands at 3.2 percent, down from 3.4 percent in July.

9-22-22 fdl shooting incident update

The Fond du Lac Police chief says a shooting incident last week appears to be a targeted incident.   Two homes in the 200 block of 6th street just east of Park Avenue were struck by bullets early last Thursday morning.  Police chief Aaron Goldstein says three people inside the home struck by three bullets were not injured and investigators believe that home was targeted.   Goldstein says detectives are reviewing surveillance video […]

9-21-22 prosecutor: charges not expected for man who killed intruder

KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) — A prosecutor in southern Wisconsin says he doesn’t expect to file charges against a homeowner who killed an intruder. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic Gov. Tony Evers' administration is trying again to limit the amount of chemicals known as PFAS in groundwater. 9-21-22 sheboygan firm selected for fdl lakeside park lighthouse repair project

A Sheboygan firm has been awarded the Fond du Lac Lakeside Park Lighthouse repair project.  Mike Koenig Construction has been awarded the project to remove and replace  siding,  rotted studs, windows, concrete cap, cleaning and tuck pointing stone, and related items.   Thje project is expected to start next week, with the  majority of the work  completed this year.  However, because of supply chain issues the window replacement is scheduled for  for next spring.
