There is not much change in the local unemployment rate in August. The Fond du Lac County jobless rate was unchanged at three percent. The Dodge County unemployment rate dipped a tenth of a percent to 2.8 percent. In the city of Fond du Lac, the August unemployment rate stands at 3.2 percent, down from 3.4 percent in July.
The Fond du Lac Police chief says a shooting incident last week appears to be a targeted incident. Two homes in the 200 block of 6th street just east of Park Avenue were struck by bullets early last Thursday morning. A Sheboygan firm has been awarded the Fond du Lac Lakeside Park Lighthouse repair project. Mike Koenig Construction has been awarded the project to remove and replace siding, rotted studs, windows, concrete cap, cleaning and tuck pointing stone, and related items.
