Longtime radio announcer and boyhood friend of Bob Dylan, John Bucklen, has died.  He was 83.  According to an obituary Bucklen died December 24 at SSM Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.  Bucklen was a longtime announcer for KFIZ radio in Fond du Lac and best friend of Bob Dylan, then Bob Zimmerman, while they were growing up in Hibbing, Minnesota in the 1950s.    Visitation will be held from 4pm to […]

Nobody was injured and one person was arrested after a UTV broke through the ice on Lake Sinissippi in Dodge County over the weekend.  The incident happened early Sunday evening.  Both occupants were pulled out of the water and back to shore.  The operator, was arrested for operating a UTV while under the influence of an intoxicant.

Fond du Lac School District superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig has announced he is retiring at the end of the school year.  Dr. Fleig announced in a letter to staff Friday afternoon he is retiring effective June 30.  He says his  "mission in Fond du Lac is complete"  and it is "time to prioritize my family."  He says he wants to focus on supporting his son as he attends college and […]
