One person died in a house fire in Dodge County.  Shortly before 2am Friday firefighters were called to the scene on Kellom Road just north of the city of Beaver Dam to find the residence engulfed in flames.  A 29 year old man had escaped safely, but a 29 year old woman was not able to escape and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The pets within the home were also found deceased.  The […]

1-3-25 man convicted in crash that injured person inside fdl verizon store

A man who was high on drugs when his car plowed into a Verizon  phone store in Fond du Lac has been convicted.  Benjamin Ayer pleaded no contest to eight counts and was convicted of multiple charges including  intoxicated use of marijuana, reckless endangering safety and operating while intoxicated causing injury. A decade after its inception an organization in Fond du Lac that placed nearly 800 rescued dogs and cats in safe and secure homes in 2024 has purchased it first permanent home. Sandi Paws Rescue of Fond du Lac expects to be fully operational at the new location, 288 W. Ninth St., by the end of February 2025.
