11-25-24 little change in local unemployment rate

There was no significant change in the local unemployment rate last month.   The city of Fond du Lac's unemployment rate inched up a tenth of a percent in October to 2.9 percent.   The Fond du Lac County jobless rate stood at 2.3 percent, down a tenth of a percent.  The Dodge County unemployment rate also dropped slightly from 2.3 to 2.2 percent.

A Fond du Lac railroad crossing will be closed for a week for repairs.  Fond du Lac Public Works says the railroad crossing at South Hickory Street,   south of Rolling Meadows Drive will be closed beginning Monday  and will re-open end of day Monday, December 2.  The railroad crossing will be closed to allow Canadian National to make an emergency repair at the railroad crossing and approaches.  A signed detour will be placed.
