WHITEWATER, Wis. (AP) — A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a national gymnastics champion in an apartment near the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus. Whitewater police say Kara Welsh, a 21-year-old student at the school, was killed Friday and the 23-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene that night. Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held Wednesday for a new music stage at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds.  The ceremony will be held at 5pm Wednesday.   The National Exchange Bank Foundation is donating $300,000 for naming rights for the  new stage.  The city of Fond du Lac contributing $375,000 for construction of the stage with the county picking up the bulk of the cost.  Construction is expected to be completed before the […]

An elderly Campbellsport man died when his ultralight plane crashed in a cornfield in Fond du Lac County. Around 8:30pm Monday rescue personnel were called to the scene near Townhall Road and Highway 45. The 89 year old pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is under investigation.
