A 26 year old Manitowoc man is in custody following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County over the weekend. The chase started shortly before 1pm Sunday on Highway 23 near County Highway UU reaching speeds close to 130 miles an hour. The chase ended when the driver drove down a dead end road on Richards Road into the backyard of a residence and the driver was arrested.

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed two barns in Fond du Lac County. Firefighters from 15 area departments were called to the scene on Lone Elm Road around 1am Saturday to find a barn fully engulfed in flames. The feed in two nearby silos was also on fire.  A conveyor belt in the barn may be the cause of the fire which remains under investigation.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — The death of a Black man who was pinned to the ground by security guards outside a Milwaukee hotel has been ruled a homicide. An autopsy released by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s office on Friday concludes that D’Vontaye Mitchell suffocated June 30 while being restrained.
