6-18-24 wisconsin department of ag, trade and consumer protection taking steps to prevent spread of bird flu in dairy cattle ahead of county fair season

6-18-24 new study show planet-first diet cuts risk of death by nearly a third

A new study says a planet-first diet cuts the risk of death by nearly a third.  The diet consists of mostly fruits, vegetables and whole grains.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says fruits and vegetables are high in anti-inflammatory nutrients and antioxidants.  The study found that a planet friendly diet also dramatically cuts the release of greenhouse gases, in turn helping the planet.

6-18-24 fdl county sheriff’s office continues to investigate vehicle entries

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office are continuing their investigation following the arrest of four Fond du Lac men in connection with several vehicle entries in the village of Eden.  Sheriff's Lieutenant Alex Volm says detectives are trying to determine if the incident is isolated or if the suspects were involved in other vehicle break ins.  Volm says it's a reminder for people to make sure their vehicles are locked.  The […]

6-17-24 motorcycle vs deer crash seriously injures fdl county man

A motorcycle vs deer crash sent a Fond du Lac County man to the hospital with serious injuries.  The crash happened shortly after 2am Sunday on southbound Interstate 41 near county highway OO.  A 56 year old South Byron man was flown by helicopter to Theda Care Regional  Medical Center in Neenah with serious injuries.  He was not wearing a helmet.

6-17-24 dodge county jail huber inmate walkaway in custody

A Huber inmate walkaway from the Dodge County Jail is in custody.   Thirty two year old Cody Griswold had left jail around midnight Thursday in his vehicle for a medical appointment at the  Marshfield Medical Center in Beaver Dam but never arrived at the facility and  did not return to the jail.     The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says Griswold turned himself in about 5pm Friday.

6-17-24 mercury marine is laying off hundreds of workers

Fond du Lac's largest employer is laying off hundreds of workers.  Mercury Marine has announced  it will cut nearly 300 jobs at its Fond du Lac  headquarters.  The company says the layoffs are due to a "softening of consumer demand" in certain markets.  The company employs more than 3,500 full-time workers in Fond du Lac.  Merc says the company has a $5 billion annual economic impact in  Fond du Lac County.
