5-27-24 dodge county sheriff’s office steps up presence at lomira schools following threat

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office stepped up presence at Lomira Schools after a threat was received on the school district's automated voicemail Friday morning.  According to the Sheriff's Office the message was vague, did not name the Lomira School District specifically, and the message was more political in nature. 5-27-24 city of fdl bypasses wastewater treatment plant during heavy rain

The city of Fond du Lac says it bypassed the city's wastewater treatment plant following heavy rainfall earlier this week.  The city says due to the heavy rains May 20 and May 21, the city diverted wastewater into nearby storm sewer pipes at four locations, discharging into nearby creeks, rivers and storm ponds.  The city says while this wastewater is untreated, it is heavily diluted and does not pose a threat to public health.  […]

5-25-24 fondy food truck festival

The summer season kicks off this weekend with the Fondy Food Truck Festival at Lakeside Park.  John Papenheim with Friends of Lakeside Park says the event will feature 36 food trucks on Oven Island, plus music, and other family activities.  The Festival runs from 11am to 5pm Sunday on Oven Island at Lakeside Park.   Papenheim says a second Food Truck Festival will be held in September.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. 5-25-24 former wisconsin guard leader passes away

Retired Maj. Gen. Jerald Slack, Wisconsin’s adjutant general from 1989 to 1996, passed away May 18 following a brief battle with cancer. He was 88 years old. Slack’s 37-year career began in 1959 when he enlisted in the Illinois Air National Guard. He transferred to the Wisconsin Air National Guard in 1961 and was commissioned a second lieutenant. He completed undergraduate pilot training in 1963 and interceptor training in 1964. […]
