5-21-24 fdl woman arrested following high speed chase

A Fond du Lac woman is in custody following a high speed chase in the city of Fond du Lac.  The chase started shortly after 11:30pm Monday in the area of N. Main Street and E. A Nicaraguan man is in custody accused of sexually assaulting a child and human trafficking in Fond du Lac County.  Early Sunday morning the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a town of Oakfield resident who said a child showed up at his door for help. A Dodge County Sheriff’s deputy received minor injuries when his squad car crashed into a house during a vehicle chase. Fifty eight year old Harvey Cox of Wonewoc had a felony warrant for fleeing from his jury trial. He pulled over on his own and was arrested. 5-21-24 golf ball size hail hits waupun

A short-lived severe thunderstorm popped up in Fond du Lac County Monday morning and pummeled Waupun with golf ball size hail.   Waupun emergency management director BJ DeMaa says a severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 10:25am Monday and five minutes later hail impacted the community for about five minutes.  DeMaa says he has heard of hail damage to vehicles.  He says its been a number of years since he's seen hail this […]

5-21-24 fdl police responding to rash of incidents at neighborhood park

Fond du Lac police are responding to several calls for service this year at a neighborhood park and the police chief says it's "unacceptable."  Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says since the beginning of the year police officers have responded 40 times to Plamore Park,  for an average of eight calls per month.  Goldstein says that compares to only 11 calls at Lakeside Park during the same time period.  Goldstein says most of […]
