2-25-25 fdl county man fatally shot by sheriff’s deputy

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating an officer involved shooting in Fond du Lac County.  A Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a town of Fond du Lac man while the Sheriff’s Office was serving a search warrant on the man.  According to a press release the man had a felony warrant for his arrest.    When deputies located him in the 600 block of Cherrywood Drive […]

2-25-25 fdl county sheriff’s office continues investigation into planned shooting at campbellsport high school

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says he hopes two juveniles accused of planning a school shooting at Campbellsport High School realize the gravity of the situation.   The 9th grade students were released to the custody of their parents following a juvenile court hearing.   Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the students’ parents have been very cooperative during the investigation.  Waldschmidt says in essence the students have been placed under house arrest.  "GPS […]

2-25-25 wisconsin home sales increased in 2024

Home sales in 2024 increased, median prices surged, interest rates dropped and inventory inched higher throughout northeast Wisconsin including Fond du Lac County.   According to the Wisconsin Realtors Association statewide existing home sales were 4.7% higher in 2024, while the median sale price rose 8.8% to $310,000.  Statewide home sales in December rose 9.2%  compared to December 2023.  Winnebago County recorded 172 sales in December a 35 percent jump from a year ago.  In […]
