12-9-15 ripon restaurant fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that significantly damaged a Ripon restaurant early this morning.  Firefighters were called to Ripon Family Restaurant on West Fond du Lac Street to find flames shooting out of the roof. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.

12-9-15 armed robbery-dodge county gas station

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed robbery at a town of Beaver Dam gas station.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the BP gas station on Madison Street was robbed at gunpoint shortly after 8am Tuesday.  The suspect displayed a weapon, stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.  He was last seen traveling westbound on Lake Crest Drive in the city of Beaver Dam.  A $500 […]

The president of the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs says a new trail pass will help local clubs better maintain trails throughout the season.  The new law requires a $30 trail pass to ride a snowmobile on the state’s snowmobile system.  But the law gives a $20 discount to snowmobile club members. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has signed a bill designed to make a heroin overdose antidote more readily available.  Under current law, doctors can give health centers, pharmacies and clinics general permission to dispense Narcan without specific prescriptions. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new University of Wisconsin System report says nearly 75 percent of graduates during the last fiscal year left school in debt.  The report, prepared for regent review at their meeting Friday, found 74 percent of UW System in-state graduates in 2014-15 had an average debt of $30,650.  The report also found that 71 percent of all undergraduate students — 111,627 students — received some form […]
