The cost of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be down slightly from last year according to the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s annual look at the price of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Deer hunters got the snow they wanted in southern Wisconsin on opening day of the state's nine-day gun season. 11-23-15 fire destroys waupun home

Nobody  was injured in a fire  that caused significant damage to a home in Waupun.  Firefighters were called to the Arif  Topalovski home  at 201 Fond du lac Street Saturday to find   flames  shooting out of the roof on the back side of the home.  Firefighters made entry but were pushed back as conditions in the home deteriorated.  It took firefighters a couple of hours to extinguish the fire.  They […]

11-23-15 deer hunter dies in green lake county

Authorities say a hunter with a history of heart problems has died after helping drag a deer to a vehicle on opening day of Wisconsin's gun deer season.  The Green Lake County Sheriff's Office says it happened shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday in the Grand River Marsh Public Wildlife Area in the Town of Kingston.  Paramedics tried to help the hunter, but the hunter died later at a hospital.  The […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A University of Wisconsin-Madison student has been selected as a Rhodes Scholar.  The university announced late Saturday evening that Colin Higgins of Middleton has been picked to receive the Rhodes Scholarship, which funds study at England's Oxford University.  Higgins completed his undergraduate studies at UW-Madison in May after triple majoring with honors in environmental studies, geography and history.
