11-19-15 judge keeps strikers from interfering with kohler traffic

KOHLER, Wis. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's gun deer season begins Saturday, but slow license sales and buck-only restrictions could translate to another down year.  According to Department of Natural Resources data, 609,779 hunters bought licenses for the 2014 hunt, the fewest hunters since 1976. They killed 222,588 deer, the fewest kills since 1983.  As of Tuesday, hunters had purchased 392,138 licenses, about 2,000 more than at the same point last year. […]

11-19-15 senator gudex demands action on hwy 23 project

Today, members of the State Legislature, including Sen. Rick Gudex (R-Fond du Lac), sent another letter to Judge Lynn Adelman demanding that a determination is made allowing the Highway 23 project to continue. 11-19-15 gas prices fall below $2 a gallon

Good news for motorists heading into next week’s Thanksgiving holiday.  Gas prices have dropped below $2 a gallon throughout the state including Fond du Lac and Lomira.  AAA projects prices at the pump are expected to continue to fall in the weeks ahead.  Gas prices briefly fell below two dollars a gallon back in January and stayed below that mark for about a month.

11-18-15 berlin man convicted in dodge-fdl county crime spree

A Berlin man has been convicted on charges in Dodge County stemming from a crime spree through Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties which included stealing multiple vehicles and car chases with authorities. At a plea hearing Tuesday, 20 year old Maxwell Decker pleaded no contest to charges of burglary-armed with a dangerous weapon, vehicle theft, and fleeing/eluding an officer. 11-18-15 former correctional officer says changes in the system are needed

A former Wisconsin correctional officer injured by an inmate three years ago says she is still not giving up her fight against the state.  Carrie Seichter was beat unconscious and scarred psychologically when she was brutally attacked by an inmate at the Stanley Correctional facility in northwest Wisconsin.  Nine months after the brutal attack Seichter learned she would no longer receive payments to public safety workers hurt on the job. (AP) — A consulting firm says the state should phase in a self-insurance model for health care for public workers.  Segal Consulting presented a report to the state Group Insurance Board on Tuesday saying moving to a self-insurance model would save the state about $42 million annually.
