Animal Shelter manager Renee Webb says the haunted house is located adjacent to the shelter on Triangle Drive in Fond du Lac and is open Friday and Saturday nights this month leading up to Halloween. Nobody was injured in a fire that caused extensive damage to a Ripon home. Firefighters from 11 departments including the city of Fond du lac were called to the scene at 551 Metomen St. Thursday. The cause appears to be accidental…an oily rag left next to the stove. The occupant apparently had the oven on self-clean mode and left the house before the fire started.
A Ripon man accused of hiding his brother's body has been convicted. At a hearing Thursday Robert Diamentis entered a plea to an amended charge of negligiently subjecting an individual at risk to abuse causing death. Fond du Lac city officials are in discussion with the state Department of Transportation on transferring jurisdiction of Highway 45 through the city of Fond du lac from the state to the city.
