5-13-15 republicans scale back proposed cut in public broadcasting

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republicans have voted to scale back the size of the cut to the budget of public television and radio as proposed by Gov. AAA projects 37.2 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmuscz says that’s a 4.7 percent increase from the 35.5 million people who traveled last year and the highest travel volume for the holiday in 10 years.  In Wisconsin nearly  781,000 people will be traveling for the holiday weekend, a 4.9 percent increase from 2014.    While […]
