5-4-15 serious injury motorcycle crash in dodge county

A motorcycle accident in Dodge County has seriously injured the motorcycle operator.  The crash happened Friday afternoon on Highway 151 and County Highway DE in the town of Calumus.  Investigators say a 44 year old Madison man was operating a motorcycle southbound on 151 when a van pulled onto the highway from County trunk DE, striking the motorcycle.  The motorcycle operator was flown by helicopter to UW Hospital in Madison.  […]

A Fond du Lac man was injured in an all terrain vehicle accident in  Fond du Lac at the ATV park over the weekend.  Flight for Life helicopter flew 26 year old Joshua Robbins to the Theda Clark Regional Medical Center Saturday afternoon.

5-4-15 wisconsin tourism spending up in every county

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's Department of Tourism says every county in Wisconsin reported increased visitor spending in 2014. It's the first time in four years counties all reported an increase. Travelers contributed $18.5 billion to Wisconsin's economy last year, up 5.5 percent from the year before, according to a state tourism report released Friday. HAYWARD, Wis. (AP) — The inland sport fishing season is now open.  Governor Scott Walker kicked it off Saturday by dropping a line at the Chippewa Flowage in Sawyer County, east of Hayward.  According to Walker's office, sportfishing generates $2.3 billion in economic benefits and supports 22,000 jobs annually in Wisconsin.  Through Tuesday, nearly 411,000 anglers had purchased fishing licenses and nearly 94,000 had purchased trout stamps.  Fishing license sales […]

(AP) — A new report shows the state Department of Justice is investigating substantially more officer-involved deaths in the wake of a new law requiring outside agencies run such probes.  A Legislative Fiscal Bureau report released Friday shows DOJ has investigated 12 deaths since the law took effect in April 2014.
