The City of Fond du Lac discovered an ash tree infested by the Emerald Ash Borer in the southwest part of the City last week. DNR officials have confirmed that it is the EAB. A small grass fire at Lakeside Park was quickly extinguished before it could spread. Firefighters were called to Lakeside Park west shortly after 1:3opm Wednesday. A police officer extinguished the fire before firefighters arrived on the scene. Fire chief Pete O’Leary says the cause appears to be suspicious. A soda bottle wrapped in a rag was found at the scene.
