MILWAUKEE (AP) — An Ohio cheesemaker won the United States Championship Cheese with a 200-pound Swiss wheel.  Guggisberg Cheese in Millersburg, Ohio, beat out 1,892 entries from 28 states. Out of a possible 100 points, the Swiss wheel scored 98.496 in the final round of judging Thursday.  First runner-up was a brick cheese made by John Pitman of Mill Creek Cheese in Arena, Wisconsin. TOMAH, Wis. (AP) — The director of the troubled Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tomah has been reassigned.  According to the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs, Mario DeSanctis has been reassigned to a position at the Great Lakes Health Care System network office.  The Tomah facility came under scrutiny in January when reports of narcotic overprescribing practices and retaliatory behaviors surfaced. A Beaver Dam man who robbed a gas station and convenience store is going to prison.  Dodge County Circuit judge Joseph Sciascia sentenced 23 year old Zack Turck, to 12 years in prison and  23 years extended supervision for the June 2014 armed robbery of Coyote Liquor Store in Beaver Dam.  According to a criminal complaint Turck entered the store and pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money […]

A Fond du Lac woman convicted for her role in a robbery at  the Adelaide Park skateboard park more than two years ago has been placed on probation.  At a hearing Friday Fond du lac judge Dale English withheld sentence and placed Cheyenne Steffen  on probation for a year and a half.  Steffen was convicted of party to the crime of armed robbery.  Investigators says Steffen was the driver of […]
