3-18-15 state assembly approves 70 mph speed limit

The state Assembly has approved a bill that would green light increasing the state speed limit to 70 mph on some highways and freeways.  Rep. Paul Tittl, a Manitowoc Republican, says the bill allows the Department of Transportation to increase speed limits to 70 miles per hour in approved areas. 3-18-15 fire destroys vacant building in town of lomira

Firefighters from seven area departments helped battle a fire fueled by strong winds that destroyed a vacant building in the town of Lomira Tuesday.  Firefighters were called to a vacant structure behind ProBuild, a building materials business on Highway 49.  Fire investigators say it appears the fire was started by high winds that stoked embers from a controlled burn on the property a day before.

3-18-15 man sentenced in beaver dam bank robbery

A lengthy prison sentence for a man convicted of robbing a Beaver Dam bank in October of 2012. Dodge County Circuit Court Judge John Storck sentenced 45 year old Kenneth Asboth Jr. to 10 years of initial confinement and 10 years of extended superivsion.
