MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An analysis by the nonpartisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau finds that Gov. Scott Walker's budget would raise taxes and fees by $48 million.  The report released Monday also determines that Walker proposals to bolster tax collection would bring in nearly $125 million in additional revenue over the next two years.  The bulk of the tax increase, $22 million, is Walker's proposal to delay implementation of a law […]

Fond du Lac police are looking for a suspect in a bank robbery Sunday.  Police say the Guaranty Bank inside Pick N Save on West Johnson Street was robbed.  Police say a black male handed the teller a note demanding money and implying he had a weapon.  He fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.    The suspect is described as a black male (possibly in […]

Nobody was injured in a fire that started on an apartment balcony.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary says the fire at the Courtyard apartments on Berger Parkway Sunday was started when someone discarded a cigarette into a bucket next to the side of the building.  The apartment owner extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher before it spread.  O’Leary says its another example of careless use of smoking materials…in this case […]
