A boil water advisory has been lifted in the village of Brandon Public Health officer, Kim Mueller, says the advisory was lifted Sunday and flyers were distributed door to door notifying residents. The advisory was issued last week following a water main break in the village.
A former Waupun resident was killed in a drive by shooting in Milwaukee. Police say 24 year old Ryan T. Rompre, and a 25-year-old woman were traveling in a car on Milwaukee’s northside when another vehicle pulled next to them and opened fire. Two women were injured in an ATV rollover accident on Lake Winnebago. Rescue personnel were called Saturday afternoon to a report of an ATV accident on the lake about a mile from Clarence’s Harbor on Winnebago Drive. According to a sheriff’s report an ATV rolled over onto the female operator. She was transported to St. Agnes Hospital with leg and rib injuries. Another female occupant received minor rib injuries.
The Fond du Lac city council has recognized an Eagle Scout for his heroic, life saving actions involving a lake rescue in the Boundary Waters canoe area near the Minnesota-Canadian border. Fond du Lac city officials are moving forward with plans to extend two bicycle trails in the city. Public Works Director Jordan Skiff says the city is using a donation from Agnesian HealthCare to hire an engineering firm to site bike trails in Lakeside Park and on Camelot Drive in the southern portion of the city. OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) — The sturgeon spearing season has ended, with more than 2,100 fish harvested. State Department of Natural Resources Senior Fisheries Biologist Ryan Koenigs says this was the sixth highest harvest since 1940. In a news release, he says fisherman speared nearly 1,900 sturgeon on Lake Winnebago and about 290 from the nearby lakes by the time the season closed Saturday afternoon.
