Firefighters quickly extinguished a shed fire north of Waupun Friday afternoon. Shortly after 2pm firefighters from Alto, Brandon and Waupun were called to the scene at W12139 Hemp Road near Highway 49 for a report of a shed next to a house in flames. The fire was out in about a half hour. There were no injuries.
No injuries reported in a two vehicle accident on Highway 41 south of Fond du Lac Friday. Rescue personnel were called to the scene in the northbound lanes of Highway 41 near County Highway F. The accident resulted in a minor traffic back-up in the northbound lanes of 41.
Two dogs were killed, but no people were injured as the result of a house fire in Washington County this week. Firefighters responded to a house fire at 8210 Kettleview Drive in the Town of Kewaskum. The Fond du Lac County Veterans Service officer says he was surprised when he heard about problems involving over prescribing opiates for patients at the VA Medical Center in Tomah. More than half of the cats removed from a Campbellsport area trailer home last month have been euthanized. Fond du Lac animal shelter Manager Renee Webb tells WFDL news 25 of the 39 cats removed from the residence have been put down. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Assembly has approved a bill that would allow grocery stores to hand out sample mini-shots of liquor. The bipartisan measure would allow retailers with liquor licenses to provide customers with one half-ounce of booze, the equivalent of a third of a shot.
