SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. (AP) — Cabela's plans to hire about 200 people for its new store in Sun Prairie.  The store is under construction and is scheduled to open this spring.  The outdoor outfitter company announced Friday it's taking online applications for the full-time, part-time and seasonal positions. The Fond du Lac County Agriculture Society is one of several ag organizations across the state receiving a grant from the Professional Dairy Producers Foundation.  The Foundation Board has announced funding for the Ag Birthing and Education Center at the Fond du Lac County Fair.  The fair is held from July 15th-19th.

1-16-15 fdl police officer leads state in overtime hours

The Fond du Lac police chief is defending an officer who earned more money than he did over the last two years by working overtime.  Overnight officer Jed Martin led the state with a weekly average of 34 overtime hours, receiving nearly $74,000 in overtime pay in 2013.  His total pay was $135,000.  Last year Martin received $90,000 in overtime with an average of 42 hours of overtime per week. 1-16-15 man loses fake leg while running from police

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — A 47-year-old man allegedly trying to outrun deputies through western Wisconsin surrendered when he lost his prosthetic leg.  Thomas Fuselier fled when a Holmen officer tried to stop him for a defective brake light Tuesday.  The La Crosse County complaint filed Wednesday says speeds reached 80 miles an hour, with Fuselier at one point sticking his hand out to wave at officers.  The complaint says […]
