Union members at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac have agreed to a labor contract extension. The International Association of Machinists Lodge 1947 approved the five-year extension yesterday. The agreement includes wage increases, ratification bonuses and wellness initiatives.

The executive director of the Fond du Lac Area United Way says this year’s fundraising goal will be met or even exceeded. Tina Potter says the fund drive has been steadily running ahead of last year’s pace. "As of today we're at 75% and I've been doing the numbers and we're going to meet our goal," Potter told WFDL news. The goal is $745,000.

Fond du Lac congressman Tom Petri says he’s pleased a Highway 41 truck weight measure has finally been approved after years of delays. The measure to grandfather current weight limits on Wisconsin’s portion of Highway 41 before it becomes an Interstate next year was included in the Omnibus Appropriations bill passed by Congress last week.
