Another store has closed at the Fond du Lac Forest Mall.  The Firestone tire store closed its doors Saturday after deciding not to renew its lease with the mall.  Firestone has stores in Sheboygan, Neenah and Oshkosh.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Senate Democratic Minority Leader Jennifer Shilling has chosen Lena Taylor and Jon Erpenbach to serve on the Legislature's Joint Finance Committee.  Shilling made the announcement Tuesday. Taylor represents a portion of Milwaukee. Erpenbach's district includes Middleton and Mount Horeb.  The finance committee's main task is to revise the governor's executive budget. (AP) — Nearly 3,500 wreaths will be laid on the graves of veterans at a King cemetery during the holiday season.  The local effort at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery is part of a national initiative that aims to honor members of the armed forces. The Fond du Lac Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help with the annual Red Kettle fundraising campaign.  Salvation Army social services director Ron Jacobson says there are currently 191 volunteers ringing bells at 19 locations and more volunteers are needed.  Jacobson says the goal is to raise $145,000. Jacobson says there are a lot of families in need this holiday season.

A Waupun city budget holds the line on taxes.  The $6.8 million dollar budget approved by the Waupun Common Council includesa szero tax rate increase.  Waupun property owners living in Fond du lac County will actually see a decrease in property taxes.  The $2.5 million tax levy includes a tax rate of $6.51 per $1,000 of valuation in Dodge County and $6.43 per $1,000 in valuation in Fond du Lac […]
