3-12-24 influenza season appears to have peaked in wisconsin

It appears the influenza season has peaked locally and statewide.  Amanda Carlson is the regional medical director for infection prevention at SSM Health in Wisconsin.  Carlson says virus levels started to go down, went back up,  and are again going down.  Carlson says we'll know in about a month if the flu season has already peaked.

3-11-24 fatal crash in western wisconsin kills nine people

DEWHURST, Wis. (AP) — Nine people were killed Friday in a crash involving a semitrailer and a van at a western Wisconsin highway intersection.  Preliminary reports about the early morning crash indicated the semitrailer traveling on State Highway 95 collided with the van traveling on County Highway J, southwest of the small city of Neillsville, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy James Hirsch said in a Facebook post.   The van entered […]

3-11-24 town of taycheeda chairman joe thome dies from injuries from accidental fall

Town of Taycheeda chairman Joe Thome has died from injuries from a fall  in Fond du Lac County.  According to an obituary from the Uecker-Witt Funeral home, Thome died Tuesday.  He was 62.   According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office Thome fell more than 10 feet while working inside a building in the town of Taycheeda.   Thome was a staple in the Fond du Lac County agricultural community and chairman of the […]

3-11-24 oakfield school district hires new administrator
