11-15-14 fire destroys lomira burger king

Fire has destroyed a building that housed a fast food restaurant and gas station in Lomira.  Firefighters from 11 agencies helped battle the blaze at the Burger King and BP station Friday morning. The building is part of the BP Hi-Way Hop complex near Highway 41. The fire sent black smoke billowing in the area. Theisen Middle School students were among 300 singers who recently participated in the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association’s Singing in Wisconsin Choral Festival on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Appleton West High School. Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin is announcing a green initiative for the upcoming holiday season. Habitat ReStores throughout the state, including the Fond du Lac ReStore (65 W. Area residents are invited to join Agnesian HealthCare associates, volunteers and physicians and donate an hour of time on Wednesday, November 26 to give blood to The BloodCenter of Wisconsin.   Blood donations will be accepted from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Agnesian HealthCare’s Plaza Level Conference Center, 430 E. There will be a benefit this month for a Fond du lac teen who was injured in a car vs. bicycle accident.  The benefit for Grant Corbin  will be held from 6:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday November 22nd at The Retlaw Hotel in the Crystal Ballroom. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democrat Dick Cates won't ask for a recount in his race for the open 51st District seat in southwestern Wisconsin against Republican Todd Novak. Cates conceded Thursday in a race that Novak won by only about 60 votes. Republicans will have a 63-36 advantage in the next Assembly.
