10-30-14 space station supply rocket explosion

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin company that makes products for use in space is only slightly affected by the launch explosion of a space station supply rocket. A spokesman tells the Wisconsin State Journal that Madison's Orbital Technologies Corporation, better known as Orbitec, had only external LED lights on the rocket that blew up Tuesday evening off the Virginia coast.

10-29-14 fdl boy seriously injured after being struck by car

A Fond du Lac child was seriously injured after being struck by a car.  The accident happened about shortly after 6pm Tuesday on Military Road near Western Avenue.  Rescue personnel say the 12 year old boy was riding his bike on Western Avenue when he was struck by a car southbound on Military Road.  He was transported to St. Agnes Hospital and later flown by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in […]

10-29-14 fdl county board votes to ban e-cigarettes in all county buildings

The Fond du lac Board has voted to ban e-cigarettes in county buildings.   The board voted on the issue at their meeting Tuesday night.  County executive Al Buechel says while e-cigarettes are not a tobacco product there are still unanswered questions about its safety and the second hand vapor.  "No one has established whether they are healthy or unhealthy,"  Buechel told WFDL news.  Buechel says allowing e-cigarettes in county buildings […]

10-29-14 fdl county budget unveiled

The Fond du Lac County executive has officially unveiled a proposed 2015 budget.  Al Buechel says the budget includes a slight increase in the tax rate because of a 1.39 percent increase in new construction.  Buechel says there are no cuts planned in staff or services.  Buechel says the county’s equalized value is up for the first time in four years.
