MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is asking the U.S. Supreme Court to leave Wisconsin's voter photo identification law in place. The American Civil Liberties Union and other opponents of the law filed a federal lawsuit in 2011 challenging the Republican-authored mandate. The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals last month said the state could implement the law while it considers the case.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal judge in Wisconsin says she is lifting her hold on an order allowing same-sex marriages to take place in Wisconsin. Judge Barbara Crabb declared Wisconsin's ban on gay marriage unconstitutional in June, but she put her ruling on hold a week later while the state appealed. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources biologists confirm two cougar sightings this year. Trail cameras captured images of a cougar in Lincoln and Marinette counties. DNR wildlife biologist David MacFarland says the sightings, about 90 miles apart, could be the same cougar.

10-8-14 gas leak quickly brought under control in downtown fdl

Nobody was injured following a natural gas leak in downtown Fond du lac Tuesday afternoon.  Fire chief Pete O’Leary says construction crews working on the Retlaw Theatre reconstruction project accidentally hit a gas main shortly before 2pm.  Businesses in the area were evacuated and a portion of Main Street was blocked to traffic.  There was a strong odor of natural gas in the air.  O’Leary says initially there was a […]

Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal two vehicle accident in Fond du lac County.  The Sheriff’s Office says 26 year old Amber Marie Dickerson from Chilton was killed in a two vehicle accident  Monday..
