A highway 23 resurfacing project east of Fond du Lac starts Monday.  The $730,000 project involves a  four mile stretch from Log Tavern Road to the Fond du Lac-Sheboygan County line.  The highway will remain open during the project with flagmen controlling traffic.  The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-October.  The Wisconsin DOT says work will include new asphalt, pavement marking and new signs. Starting this week the north traffic and parking lane on West First Street between South Main Street and South Macy Street will be closed to westbound traffic. JUNEAU, Wis. (AP) — Prosecutors say a Wisconsin man sent to prison for his eighth drunken driving conviction told investigators he had gotten behind the wheel while intoxicated hundreds of times.  Fifty-five-year-old George Gamboeck, of Reedsville, has been sentenced to 4½ years behind bars after pleading no contest to drunken driving in Dodge County.
