A Fond du Lac man has been convicted in the stabbing death of a Fond du Lac woman.  A jury has found Gary Davis guilty of First Degree Intentional Homicide in the November  2022 death of 51 year old Jacquelyn Rooney.  Her body was found covered in her locked apartment on East Merrill Avenue with 14 stab wounds and blunt force head injuries.  Davis was also found guilty of Mayhem with a dangerous weapon […]

2-26-24 inmate death at waupun prison under investigation

The state Department of Corrections is investigating another inmate death at Waupun Correctional Institution.  Sources tell WFDL news the inmate was  found dead in his cell in the segregation unit at the prison on Thursday.  The cause of death has not been determined.   This is the fourth prisoner death  at Waupun Correctional since a lockdown began on March 29.  The state Department of Corrections announced last month that movement at the prison […]

2-26-24 fatal vehicle vs pedestrian crash i-41

One person was killed in a vehicle vs pedestrian crash on Interstate 41 near Appleton.  The crash happened shortly after 8am Friday on southbound 41 near Meade Street.   According to the State Patrol witnesses reported a pedestrian was  exited a vehicle  and ran into the path of an oncoming commercial vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
