7-14-14 two suspects in assault of sheriff’s deputy to make court appearances this week

Two Fond du lac County men accused of trying to disarm a sheriff’s deputy are expected to make their initial court appearances this week.  Twenty two year old Colton Obrien of Eden and 19 year old Tanner Gremminger of rural Campbellsport face multiple charges.  Obrien is accused of punching the deputy and trying to grab his service revolver during a scuffle.  Gremminger is accused of pointing the deputy’s Taser at the deputy.  Fond du […]

7-14-14 pedestrian killed

NEW LONDON, Wis. (AP) — A pedestrian in Waupaca County has died after being hit by a vehicle.  The collision happened early Saturday morning in the Town of Lebanon, north of New London.  Emergency crews found the male victim unconscious. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — Manitowoc police are warning that an unusually powerful batch of heroin may have made its way to the streets.  Two drug overdoses were reported in a 12-hour period. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Police records show the suspect in the deaths of two women whose bodies were found in suitcases dumped on a rural Wisconsin road had abused his authority as a police officer by selling cellphone service while on duty.  Steven Zelich came under suspicion in 2001 after a struggle with a prostitute. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information on the thefts of grave markers honoring Veterans from local cemeteries: Oakwood Cemetery on Hwy 33 just east of Hwy 151 in the Township of Beaver Dam and Stone Hill Cemetery on County Trunk E near State Hwy 26 in the Township of Burnett. 7-12-14 fdl man injured in northern wi boating accident

OWN OF BARNES, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin man is hospitalized after a boating accident on a Bayfield County lake. Authorities say 58-year-old Thomas Wincek of Fond du Lac was injured in the accident yesterday on Upper Eau Claire Lake in the Town of Barnes. Authorities say Wincek lost control of the boat and was ejected, suffering severe lacerations from the propeller.
