NEW LONDON, Wis. (AP) — A pedestrian in Waupaca County has died after being hit by a vehicle.  The collision happened early Saturday morning in the Town of Lebanon, north of New London.  Emergency crews found the male victim unconscious. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  

MANITOWOC, Wis. (AP) — Manitowoc police are warning that an unusually powerful batch of heroin may have made its way to the streets.  Two drug overdoses were reported in a 12-hour period. OWN OF BARNES, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin man is hospitalized after a boating accident on a Bayfield County lake. Authorities say 58-year-old Thomas Wincek of Fond du Lac was injured in the accident yesterday on Upper Eau Claire Lake in the Town of Barnes. Authorities say Wincek lost control of the boat and was ejected, suffering severe lacerations from the propeller.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Governor Scott Walker has appointed a former Milwaukee judge to the state Governor Accountability Board. John Franke  replaces Michael Brenna, whose six-year term expired in May. Franke will serve on the board until May 1, 2020.
