MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker has raised more than twice as much as Democratic opponent Mary Burke over the first six months of the year.  Walker reported Wednesday that his campaign raised $8.2 million from January through June. Wisconsin legislators are getting a lot of money these days from people who can’t vote for them.  Mike McCabe with the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign says state legislators accepted two thirds of their campaign donations from donors who don’t live in their district.  McCabe says this is true for both parties.  Republicans accepted a larger total amount than Democrats becaue there are more of them in the legislature.  Meanwhile McCabe says the amount of money […]

The Blood Center of Wisconsin is making a plea for Fond du lac area residents to donate blood.  Blood drives are being held in Fond du Lac and Campbellsport over the next couple of weeks.  The first blood drive will be held  Wednesday from 11am to 4pm at the Fairgrounds Expo Center and Thursday from 1-6pm at the Expo Center.  Blood donors will receive a free Fond du Lac County fair pass.  Fond […]

7-9-14 gravestone markers stolen from dodge county cemetery

Over 40 bronze markers were taken from the graves of veterans buried at a cemetery in Dodge County.  On Monday, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by a cemetery caretaker reporting the theft of the markers at Oakwood Cemetary near Beaver Dam.  It’s believed the markers were stolen sometime over the weekend.  Anyone with information should contact the Sheriff’s Department at 386-3726.

7-9-14 child enticement update

Fond du Lac police are asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect in a child enticement incident.  Police lieutenant Jason Lariden says the incident happened Sunday night when a man, described as being in his 50s,  allegedly exposed himself to two children at Taylor Park.  Lariden says police have stepped up enforcement in the area…but still have no suspects.  Anyone with information is asked to call police.
