7-7-14 oakfield woman injured in lawnmower accident

An Oakfield woman received non life-threatening injuries when she was pinned by a lawnmower over the weekend.   Shortly after 1pm Saturday rescue personnel were called to the scene at W 8095 Prairie Road in Oakfield.  The Sheriff's Office received a report that as a lawnmower was being loaded onto a trailer it had  rolled backward onto the 62-year-old- woman.

(AP) — The eighth annual Wisconsin Wife Carry Championship Race was a big hit again this year, especially for Jon Fenrick of Middleton.  He slung his 103-pound wife over his shoulders and completed the obstacle course Friday in a minute flat. Fond du Lac Police are continuing to investigate a bomb threat at the Fond du Lac Fleet Farm store on Thursday night.  A police department news release says shortly after 6pm last Thursday a store employee discovered a threat indicating that a bomb was going to go off at a specific time.  The store on Rogersville Road was evacuated and the area was blocked off  to traffic as officers searched the store.   Store […]

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An aide to Gov. Scott Walker who got caught up in a secret investigation into illegal campaigning has landed a new state job with a hefty pay raise.   Cindy Archer has been hired as chief information technology officer for the state public defender's office.  Her hourly salary is $54.34 an hour. (AP) — A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman says an ultralight airplane crashed in central Wisconsin and the pilot was killed.  Elizabeth Isham Cory said Wednesday in a statement that the pilot was the sole occupant of the single-engine plane. TOWN OF MAINE, Wis. (AP) — An Outagamie County father and his teenage son are hospitalized after a lawn mower exploded.  The pair was working on the lawn mower at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Town of Maine when the fuel ignited.  Both were burned, and the father had to be airlifted to a Madison hospital.
