Careless use of smoking materials are blamed for a fire that damaged a Fond du Lac home.  Shortly before 10:30pm Tuesday firefighters were called for a report of a back porch on fire at 123 West McWilliams Street.  Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke and fire coming from the wooden porch and surrounding groundcover on the east side of the house.  The fire was quickly extinguished and damage was contained to the porch and a portion […]

A Fond du Lac man was arrested after colliding with a sheriff's squad car while driving the wrong way on Highway 151.   Sheriff's captain Bill Tadych says the incident happened early Sunday morning on 151 near County Highway V.  Tadych says a deputy was able to slow the vehicle that was traveling north in the southbound lanes of 151, and ended when the suspect vehicle struck the squad.  Nobody was injured […]
